Joaquin Enrique Aguilar, 71, of Soledad, passed away March 9, 2021.
Joaquin was born in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico on Aug. 16, 1949. He was a graduate of Gonzales Union High School, class of 1968. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972, and was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a veteran from the Army and MPC Colleges. After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired as a Monterey County Park Ranger in 2004.
Joaquin was a loving father to his daughters and grandchildren. He loved restoring his 1958 Impala and other vintage autos. He enjoyed morning spiritual walks, nature, reading, yardwork, playing his various instruments, listening to oldies and classical music, but most of all, he loved his daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Elina Aguilar, Leana Leaver; grandsons, Andrew Villareal, Nicholas Leaver; granddaughter, Neela Mei Leaver; siblings and other loving relatives.
As by his request, no services will be held. A military funeral will take place at the Soledad Cemetery at a later date.

I worked with Joaquin at the Monterey County Parks Dept. He was a wonderful human being and everyone liked him. Since his retirement we kept in touched by Christmas Cards and letters. His was the first Christmas Card that we received every year. He will be missed. We will pray for him and his family.
