Margaret Crinklaw Obituary

"Beautiful inside and out." Marge Crinklaw was born July 31, 1926 in San Jose. She was the youngest of 4 children of William and Mary Rudd. Marge spent her childhood years picking prunes and apricots, milking cows, and driving tractors along with her 2 sisters Ellen and Gladys and brother Bill on her parent's orchard.

Her love of fashion and style led her to San Jose State where she graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. She soon began her career as a buyer for Livingston's Department Store in San Francisco. Big city life was short lived as she couldn't resist the charm of a young red haired King City farmer, William Crinklaw, who swept her off her feet. There began their 63 year romance and adventure travelling to Mexico, Europe and Africa until Bill's passing.

She was a total people person and generously donated time volunteering as a hospital Pink Lady, Choir Director and youth leader at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 4-H leader, and Steinbeck House member. Marge was the ultimate entertainer and hostess but her true love was being a devoted partner to Bill, mother to oldest daughter Susan, son Bill and Liz Ann. Her 3 grandchildren, Alex Hutton, Kaley Crinklaw McIver (Chris) , Brennen Crinklaw and Great Grand Daughter Peighton Crinklaw, adored every moment they spent with Nana. The kids enjoyed countless hours at the home ranch swimming, exploring, and just being pampered by Nana and Papa Bill. She was unmatchable with her love and ability to make every person she met feel special.

After Bill's passing in 2011, Marge moved to Granite Bay with her Daughter Liz Ann and Son-in-law Jim Hutton. She continued being the life of the party at her Roseville Senior Independent Community especially on Happy Hour Wednesday's where she often sang with the live band.

Marge was preceded in death by Husband William, son Bill, Daughter in Law Chris Crinklaw, Grandson Alex Hutton, Parents William and Mary Rudd, Sisters Ellen Lehmann and Gladys Bailey and Brother William Rudd. What an amazing 98 year life! Her incredible personality and joy of life will be missed by all who knew her. At her request there will be no service.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Marge. Marge was a volunteer at the Steinbeck House Restaurant in Salinas many years ago. "Beautiful inside and out" is a fitting tribute and we appreciate her service.

Please accept my deepest sympathies to all of Marge´s family,

Marge was an extraordinary woman. Always gracious and warm. She and Bill were very good friends with my mom and dad, Pat & Allen Gill. The 4 of them had many fun adventures on wine tasting road trips. Marge was " game" for anything the 2 farmers, Bill and Allen, were dreaming up.. including trespassing onto vineyards to check the grapes!!
Always with a smile! A beautiful woman inside and out!

God bless Marge and may she rest in peace.
