Allen Sidney Humphrey

Allen Sidney Humphrey, age 55, of Salisbury passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. Allen was born Dec. 23, 1962 in Salisbury, the son of the late Ailene Lingle Humphrey and Willie Humphrey. He was a 1981 graduate of West Rowan High School and worked for Goodman Millworks. He enjoyed barbequing, NASCAR, camping and football, especially West Rowan Football. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family and playing games. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dawn Absher Humphrey whom he married June 19,1982; daughter, Sydney Humphrey Tadwick (Jonathan) of Asheville; brother, Charles Humphrey (Elizabeth Lawrence) of Mooresville; sisters, Betty Humphrey Cauble of Salisbury and Sarah Humphrey Eckenrod (Paul) of Greensboro; and 10 nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Summersett Funeral Home. Service: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Dawn Rister with burial to follow in church cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Helping Ministries, 226 N. Long St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
