Mr. Anthony Eugene Gill, 22, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born Jan. 1, 1995, in Rowan County, he was a 2015 graduate at Salisbury High School. He last worked at Janpro as a custodian. Anthony was a very smart and loving respectful young man who loved his family so much. Anthony was born to Anthony Eugene Gill and the late Kokather Nicole Scarbough. Because of his mother's unconditional love she requested Anthony be adopted by Mr. Sylvester Scarbough. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kokather Scarbough; grandparents Larry Scarbough Sr. and Doretha Scarbough; his aunt, Billie Jean Koontz; uncles, Roosevelt Koontz Lyerly, Dessie Scarbough, Larry Scarbough Jr. and Christopher Scarbough. He leaves precious and loving memories to his father, Anthon Gill; his uncle who always felt Anthony was his own son, Sylvester Scarbough of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his aunt Annie Partee (Herb) of Salisbury; grandparents, Lily Stockton (Roosevelt) and Fannie Gill; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation and Service: Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 3, at A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel, Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. with the visitation at 1 p.m., and funeral at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow services at Oakwood Cemetery and Bishop Carolyn Archie will be in charge of the services. At other times the family will receive guests at the home of Annie Mae Partee, 119 Knox Street, Salisbury. Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family.
