Billy Barrier Obituary

Billy Wayne “Bill” Barrier, 91, of Gold Hill, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 at his home in Gold Hill. He was born July 16, 1927 in Stanly County, to the late Horace and Maybell Wagoner Barrier. Bill was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Talbert Wagoner VFW Post 6359 in Richfield. He retired from Vulcan Materials as an Equipment Operator after more than 25 years of service. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wagoner Barrier; and step-son, Doug Perry. Bill is survived by many nieces and nephews. Service: The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, in the Welsey Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Nikki Raye Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 46963 Wesley Chapel Rd., Misenheimer, NC 28109.
