Bruce Allen Branchfield

Bruce Allen Branchfield, 62 of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his home in Salisbury with his wife by his side. He was born October 13, 1954 in Peoria , IL a son of Elaine Vavric Branchfield and the late Gerald Branchfield. Bruce attended school at Pekin Community High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. He was stationed in Stuttgart Germany where he served as an MP and a Sniper. Bruce worked as a automotive mechanic of over thirty years. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, bowling and his Ford F-150. Bruce loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. In addition to his father, Bruce was preceded in death by his son, Chad Branchfield. Bruce is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Tamra Yvonne Branchfield, whom he married December 29, 1979; two daughters, Kibi Hood and husband Michael of Salisbury, and Jessica Self and husband Danny of Richfield; three grandsons, Dylan Furr, Leland Sherman, and Danny Self, Jr.; granddaughter, Jaida Branchfield; brother, Gerald Branchfield, Jr.; two sisters, Faith Blanchard, and Alison Branchfield. The family will greet friends and relatives on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Salisbury National Cemetery (202 Government Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144) with Rev. Michael Herring, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the North Carolina National Guard and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
