Carol Steelman Obituary

Carol Steelman, 75, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Salisbury. Born in Rowan County on Feb. 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Melva Sowers Lowman and Howard J. Lowman. Carol was a graduate of Boyden High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Steelman, who passed away on Jan. 29, 2011; son, Jerry Wayne Steelman and daughter, Lisa Lynn Brown. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Steelman (Paula) of Rockwell; daughters, Barbie Stoner (Ken) of Rockwell and Melanie Carol Henderson of Advance; grandchildren, Joshua C. Coggin, Jeremy W. Coggin, Justin M. Stoner, Brittany L. Henderson, Megan D. Steelman and Bobby Curlee; and great-grandchildren, Jillian G. Coggin and Jenna R. Coggin. Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Service: 2 p.m. at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Sy Ponds officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rowan Memorial Park Lakeside Mausoleum. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Liberty Commons Nursing Center, 4412 S. Main St., Salisbury, NC 28147 or the Alzheimer's Association, 8180 Greensboro Dr., Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
