Cecil Murray "Buck" Farrington

Cecil 'Buck' Farrington SALISBURY — Cecil Murray "Buck" Farrington, 86, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at North Carolina Lutheran Home after three weeks of illness. Buck was born March 2, 1920, in Salisbury to the late Arie John Farrington and Clarice Hill Farrington. He was married for 65 years to Ruby Odessa Holshouser Farrington of Salisbury. They were married in Danville, Va., on July 13, 1941. Prior to his illness, they resided at Trinity Oaks. He served seven years from 1940-1947 during World War II in the United States Navy. He was a member of Livengood-Peeler-Wood American Legion Post 448 and Christiana Lutheran Church. He worked for more than 30 years at the Salisbury Post. He was preceded in death by a son, James David Farrington, on Aug. 22, 1999. He is also survived by his children: daughter Clarice Farrington Einstein and husband Freddy of Advance, son Dr. Cecil Murray Farrington Jr. and wife Monica of Salisbury and daughter-in-law Ann Farrington, also of Salisbury; grandchildren Greg and Janet Einstein and Chip and Amy Einstein of Winston-Salem, Brad and Maggie Farrington of Boone and Haley and Diego Ascosta of Charlotte, Murray, Madeleine and Maryclaire Farrington of Salisbury, and T.J. Heffner of Hilton Head, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Nikki Einstein of Winston-Salem. Visitation: Visitation will be held from 7-8:30 tonight at Lyerly Funeral Home, 515 S. Main St., Salisbury. Service: Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Christiana Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Carl M. Haynes, pastor, and Rev. Richard Holshouser.
