Charles Franklin Everson

Charles Franklin Everson entered the Church Triumphant on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Born September 28, 1942, in the Salisbury "Dukeville Community," Charles was the third son of the late Jim T. Everson and Pauline Smith Everson. He was a 1962 graduate of North Rowan High School, and worked for Norfolk Southern Railway for 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: James, Richard, and Marcus Everson.

Charles and his wife Brenda recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their blessed family: daughters Pamela Patterson (Andy) and Kimberly Hardin (Mark); grandchildren Bailey Velazquez (Lucio), Taylor Ellington (Jared), Bronson Patterson, Brenna Patterson, Shelby Lane Ellington (Luke), and Courtney Ellington (Dan); great grandchildren Marley, Jenny, Anthony, Graham, Caroline Grace, and Mayson Lane (due in the spring). Memories of him will live on in our hearts.

Charles was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord and served Him well at First Baptist Church, Spencer; St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

He was an honorable and compassionate man who had a big heart and a deep love for his family, his friends, and God. He was awarded Lifetime Member of the Lutheran Southern Seminary and was the recipient of the NC Outstanding Lutheran Men Award, and the NC Jaycee Distinguished Citizenship Award. He was president of the Regional Lutheran Men in Mission.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church with the Reverend Dr. Jarrod Lanning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
