Charles Shoaf Obituary

Charles Henry Shoaf affectionately known as “Sug” passed away Sunday February 7, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Shoaf was born in Davidson County on October 28, 1937 to the late Fred Casey Shoaf and Bessie Golden Leonard Shoaf. He retired from NC Finishing Company after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Telo Shoaf, Bud Shoaf and Tom Shoaf, sisters, Louise Simerson, Kathleen Grubb and Mable Koontz, son in laws, Ted Leonard and Roy Gray. Surviving are son, Walter Shoaf (JoAnn) of Salisbury, daughters, Angela Shoaf (Kevin Elliott), Elaine Leonard of Lexington, Bessie Bean (Anthony) of Efland, brothers, James Shoaf, Don Shoaf, Casey Shoaf, Jr., Bill Shoaf all of Lexington, sisters, Maxine Richardson of Mocksville, Tina May of Lexington, sister in law, Hilda Shoaf, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Service: A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Sandy Creek Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Shoaf officiating. Mr. Shoaf will lie in state at St. Luke's Lutheran Church where he was a member, from 12:00 until 1:45 PM prior to the graveside service. Memorial: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, St Luke's Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295. Online condolences may be made to www.piedmontfuneralhome.com. Piedmont Funeral Home is honored to serve the Shoaf family.
