Claude Beaver Obituary

Claude Alfred Beaver SALISBURY - Claude Alfred Beaver, 92, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Beaver was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Rowan County, a son of the late John Elijah Beaver and Nannie Elizabeth Park Beaver. He was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School and retired after 45 years from Cannon Mills Plant 4 as a loom fixer. Mr. Beaver was a member of Faith Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher for the Johnnie Jones Class, was a former Deacon and a member of the Joyful Seniors Choir. He loved gardening and beekeeping. His wife, Mrs. Mildred Mills Beaver, whom he married April 10, 1936, passed away Sept. 9, 1998. Survivors are son Jimmy Beaver of Richfield; daughter Shirley B. McCulloh of Salisbury; sisters Nellie Payne and Eula Mae Sides, both of China Grove; grandchildren Kenneth Beaver, Mark McCulloh, Stacey McCulloh of Salisbury, and Brenda Story of Statesville; six great-grandchildren; and three great- great- grandchildren. Service : The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Charles Brawley, pastor of First Baptist Church, Bessemer City, and the Rev. Mike Motley, pastor of Trading Ford Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in-state from 1:30-2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church. Visitation : The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 7-8:30 tonight and at the home of daughter Shirley McCulloh the remainder of the time.
