Dale Nordman Obituary
SPENCER - Dale Bryce Nordman, 76, of Spencer, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.
He was born July 21, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late Ruth Elva Casselman and the late George F. Nordman. He was a graduate of Hayward High School in Hayward, Calif., and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Nordman worked as an aircraft electrician at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, Calif., and at Alameda Naval Air Station in Alameda, Calif., and retired in 1987.
He was a member of VFW Post 3006, American Legion Post 342, and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were daughter Kathaleen Williams and brothers George, Jack and David Nordman.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Edith Balke Nordman, whom he married Dec. 31, 1970; son Warren Nordman (Kelly) of Dublin, Calif.; daughters Birdie Anderson (Mikel) of O'Fallon, Ill., and Susie Nordman of Winston-Salem; brother Dan Nordman (Laura) of Pollack Pine, Calif.; grandchildren Stacy Higgenbotham (Tyler), Shari and Corey Anderson (Jennifer), Shane and Rebecca Nordman and Zach Lankford; and great-granddaughter Kiley Voellin-ger.
Services: A Graveside Service is at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Robert Heard with military graveside rites by Rowan County Honor Guard.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials to Oakdale Baptist Church, 200 Charles St., Spencer, NC 28159; or American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

My name is Jennie Russell Phillips. I took care of Mr Nordman when I worked at the hospital last year, he was a wonderful person even when he was sick he always tried to be up beat, I was thinking about him the other day and had to smile, I have moved to CT but have not forgotten him,he will be missed.. All of you will be in my prayers and I know we will see him again when God calls us home
