Deborah Raper Obituary

Deborah C. Raper

ROCKWELL - Deborah Cosby Raper, age 57, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, after an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late William Vernon Cosby and Ruby Rumple Cosby. Debbie attended A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis.

Debbie was employed with Performance Fibers, Salisbury, for 24 years. She is fondly remembered by family for her interest in gardening and spending time at High Rock Lake where she had a home. She was also a strong race fan.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer King of China Grove; her son, Justin Raper and wife Beth of Concord; her grandson, Trajan King; two sisters, Linda Cosby and Barbara Upright, both of Kannapolis; her brother, Randy Cosby of Lake Norman; and her constant four-legged companion, Fletcher.

Service and Visitation: A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. Tony Hall. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Memorials: May be made to American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210.
