Betty Diane Culp Crow, 80, of Troutville, Va., passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by love on Monday, May 29, 2023. She was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Salisbury, to Betty Elium Culp and the late Hardin Evan Culp of East Spencer. In addition to her father, Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Evan Culp and his daughter, Lori Elizabeth Culp. After graduating from North Rowan High School in 1961, Diane married her High School Sweetheart Wesley Le-Roy Crow. They have two daughters, Regina Diane (Gary) Kempic of Ellicott City, Md., Leslie Leigh (Lee) Dunbar of Eagle Rock, Va., and a son Marty Le-Roy (Allison) Crow of Vinton, Va. Diane was know as MawMaw by her eight grandchildren: Nina Kempic, Jacob Kempic, Brianna D. (Benjamin) Diaz, Lydia Dunbar, Madison Crow, Molly Crow, McKenzie Crow and Eli Crow. Additional survivors are sister Sharon Culp (Lenn) Turner of Salisbury, brother Charles “Benny” (Jill) Culp of Salisbury and aunt Dr. Ruth L Elium of East Spencer. Diane was a faithful member of Thrasher Memorial UMC, Vinton, Va. She was very involved in her Church, Civic organizations and loved being involved with her family's life never missing an opportunity watching her children and grandchildren's activities. Diane's funeral service was held at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Oakley's East Chapel Funeral Service and Crematory in Roanoke, VA, with Pastor Seong-Jae Jo officiating. Interment followed in Mill Creek Cemetery, New Castle, VA. The Family received friends at the funeral home Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, one hour prior to the funeral service.
