I know of him from people here in China Grove talk about him and all the great things he has done for the scouts. I do think some one from the Salisbury post should do a write up about him. A lot of people didn't know he is gone and was shocked to hear of it

Donnie was a great friend to me and many others. I don't know of anyone that didn't respect Donnie and what he stood for. The scouting world will surely miss him. Take comfort in knowing that he is now with our Lord and that the many lives he has touched will carry on the values that he stood for. Rest in peace my friend and may the Lord bring comfort to Donnie's family.

Donny was such a nice man and it was a pleasure to share my wood badge journey with him. I am sorry I missed the wake but could not find the funeral home. With respect and love, he will be missed.

Donny, you were a great man and friend and a mentor to so many. I worked with you off and on for 12 yrs in scouting and I learned so much from you and I'm grateful. If it wasn't for you pushing and helping, Steven might not have been able to get his Eagle when he did and for that I'll always be thankful. You'll be missed by many but especially by us that worked by your side. Love and miss you always.

Scoutmaster. Mentor. Role model. Friend.

Your mark on this world will continue to live on in the hundred of boys you've helped guide to being men of honor and integrity, who will in turn pass along those lessons to successive generations.

Fair winds and following seas, Donny. May we continue to honor your legacy by being the men you knew we were capable of being.

You will be missed, never forgotten. We rejoice that you've been made whole and look forward to the day when we'll all see you again!!

Donnie, you have touched the hearts of so many. You are and will always be my brother through Christ. I will miss you, but I know that God has you for a reason. I will remember you when we retire the next United States Flag. Now go rest in peace, and start a new troop in heaven. Troop 316. (John:3-16). Love you brother. Mark Lottes
