Edker Lee Brentham

BELTON, Tex. - Edker Lee Brentham, age 83, of Belton, Tex., died Monday, June 1, 2009 in a Temple hospital.

Mr. Brentham was born in Flat, Tex., to Carl and Birdie Lee Brentham. He received his early education in Flat, Tex. He was an Ordained Minister. He was pastor of the Community Baptist Mission for two years. He spent many years as a Southern Baptist volunteer, ministering in Haiti, WI. He retired from the Foreign Mission Field in 1998. Since that time he has volunteered his time with Mission Service Corp, working directly with the First Baptist Church and Hope for the Hungry in Belton. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Seaford Brentham of Belton. Tex. Mr. Brenthams children, grandchildren and great grandchildren reside in California, North Carolina, Arizona and Kansas. He is also survived by a sister, Ella Tinkler of Garland, Tex.; brothers Eddie Ray Brentham and wife Judy, of Grand Prairie, Tex., and Jerry Brentham and wife Donnie of Belton, Tex.

Service: Memorial services for will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Belton, Tex. with Rev. Andy Davis officiating.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Dossman Funeral Home Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. Mr. Brentham will be cremated.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hope For The Hungry for the Mission House, P. O. Box 786 Belton, Tex. 76513

Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge.
