Edward Arthur Welch

Edward Arthur Welch, 83, of Salisbury, ended his service to the Lord on Monday, November 24, 2025, at The Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. He was born on December 31, 1941, in Broome County, New York, the son of the late Ulysses J. Welch and the late Ruth Helena Saunders. He was a 1960 graduate of Whitney Point Central High School. A veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1960 to 1964 as a medical technician at McDill Air Force Base, Florida. After his service in the Air Force, he attended and graduated from Seaway Baptist Bible institute of Canada. Edward was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and was a song leader. Edward worked as a maintenance man at Broome Community College and was school bus driver for Whitney Point Central School District until his retirement. He loved NASCAR, the New York Giants, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, William and Burt Welch.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Beatrice M. Welch; daughter Sonja Parton of Winston Salem, NC, sons; Edward Welch and wife Christina of Endicott, NY, Joel Welch and wife Debbie of Statesville, NC. Grandchildren, Shavone, Jalina, Casia, Kayla, Carson, Carter, Halee, Bryttany, Dillan, Katlyn, Kristen, Abigayle. 15 Greatgrandchildren and sister Mary Gauglur.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from12:30pm-2:00pm at Oakdale Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm with the Rev. Mike Lane and Rev. Richard Gross officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
