Elizabeth Buell Camp Bartholomew, 98, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at her home. Born July 27, 1922 in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Irene Schroeder Buell and Robert Ellingham Buell. Mrs. Bartholemew graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Education. She was a wife, mother, educator, and author. For over two decades in Sacramento, CA she wrote a syndicated weekly column in the Catholic Herald, called “Over The Tea Cups” which was written in a conversational style about solving today's problems in a Christ centered way. During her life, she lived in 27 states, with the past 22 years in the Salisbury area. Mrs. Bartholomew served as the West Coast President, National Council of Catholic Women and as a member of the University Women's Association. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Albert John Camp, May 1986, and her second husband of 24 years, Rolland Burdette “Bart” Bartholomew on May 1, 2016, step-son, Trevor Bartholomew and sister Ila Buell Martin of Dacula, GA. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Albert John Camp (Geneva) of OR, Robert Buell Camp (Donna) of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Mary Jo Camp Simpson (Steven) of Salisbury, step-daughter Mary Jane Bartholomew Thomas (Jim) of Port Jefferson, NY, step-sons, Bruce Bartholomew (Carolyn) of Tucson, AZ, and Mark Bartholemew (Stephanie) of Lake Tahoe, NV; grandsons, Christian Camp (Sandra) of Sandy Hook, NH, Michael Steven Simpson (Eren) of Wilmington, NC, William Robert Simpson (Aaron) of Greensboro, NC, John Paton Simpson (Lauren) of Brevard, NC; granddaughters, Alexandra Camp Singer (Brad) of Tiburon, CA, Meghan Simpson Lowry (Matthew) of Reno, NV; step-grandsons, Chase Bartholomew of OR, Jonathan Thomas (Sarah) of North Brunswick, NJ, Keith Bartholomew (Shelby) of Flagstaff, AZ; step-granddaughters, Gwen Thomas Volmar (Dan) of Cambridge, MA and Kelly Bartholomew French (Tom) of Pueblo, CO; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Service: Mrs. Bartholomew will be cremated with a memorial service at a later date. Interment will be on the family plot in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Folsom, CA.
