Faye Childers Lewis

KANNAPOLIS - Faye Childers Lewis, age 94, journeyed into the arms of her Savior on Nov. 15, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Gail Wise, and with her family by her side.

She was born Oct. 17, 1917, to the late Marion and Luvina Childers. She was also preceded in death by husbands Bruce Childers and Ernest Lewis; a son, Jerry Childers; and nine brothers and three sisters.

Faye was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a simple life, but one filled with love, faith and a never-ending desire to share the love of Jesus Christ.

Faye was a member of Landis Baptist Church, where in years past she participated with the Lottie Menscer Circle, the choir and taught Sunday School.

Those she left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Gail Wise and husband Rudy; five grandchildren, Darrell Childers (Kathy), Lori Lambert (Eric), Gina Brigman (Richie), Pam Richardson (Bill) and Angie Meyers (Mark); and 10 great- grandchildren, Carmen Childers, Nathan, Jonathan and Hannah Lambert, Kristi, Amber and Holly Brigman, Blake and Brock Richardson and Landon Meyers.

Visitation and Service: The family will greet friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 18 from 12-1 p.m. The Service of Celebration will follow in the Chapel and will be officiated by Pastors Allen Fox, Billy Honeycutt and David Franks. Burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park following the service officiated by Rev. Richard Horn.

Memorials: May be given to Cabarrus Hospice and Palliative Care , 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care she received from the Hospice nurses. We love you Mamaw Faye. We will miss you beyond belief but your legacy will live on through your testimony of obedience, faith and your never ending search for wisdom through His Word.
