SALISBURY - Frances Kelly Hannah, 84, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Born Feb. 24, 1925, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late William Frohock Kelly and Fannie Bost Kelly.

She graduated from the Rowan County Schools, attended UNC-Greensboro Women's College and graduated from Catawba College.

Mrs. Hannah taught school for several years in Rowan and Davie Counties and later was a bookkeeper with Hannah Construction Company before retiring.

She volunteered with Rowan Helping Ministries, Meals on Wheels and Rowan Literacy Council. She also was a tutor with the Rowan County Schools.

She was a long time member of Second Presbyterian Church and a member of the Nelson Hayden Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Hannah was preceded in death by her husband, William Andrew Hannah, Jr. on June 15, 1998.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Steven Hannah of Salisbury, David Hannah (Laurie) of Charlottesville, Va., Ted Hannah (Cathy) and Bob Hannah (Karen) all of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Matt Hannah (Laura), Will Hannah, Katherine Hannah and Meredith Hannah; one great-grandson, Jake Hannah; and nieces and nephews, Hannah Craven, Dolly Denton, Cindy Hoyt, Roy Black, Lindsay Roper, Vickie Shirah, Robert Hannah and Tom Hannah.

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Summersett Funeral Home.

Service and Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Roger Mackey officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
