Anna, You've both become such good friends to us that to say Mike will be missed is a tremendous understatement. I think it's the unconditional love that you two shared that makes your loss that much more painful to see and feel. We have so many fond memories that bring a smile to our face when we think of Mike and times we shared together. His contagious smile and sweet personality will forever remain in our minds and heart. We are truly sorry for your tragic loss Anna, Avery, Maverick and the rest of the Bostian and Patterson families. We have memories of many spring and summer nights of our families on the baseball field with Michael always coaching them on and off of the field. Michael was just an all around great guy! I will always remember Mike for his contagious smile and love for life. Every time I saw him, he went out of his way to say hello and ask how things were going. He had a loving, genuine heart to everyone he knew. Anna and boys, I know things will never be the same, but hold on to your precious memories for comfort during the hard times. Gary, Debbie, and Jatana, I'm sorry for the loss of your son and brother. I can't imagine how that feels either. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time and for the days ahead. What love! Mike had a way of showing love to everyone he came in contact with, especially his family and friends! I will always remember him picking and cutting up with the girls. Alyssa and Emilee both would be so shy to begin with, but give Mike a few minutes and the girls were wide open, giggling and cutting up with Mike at the center of it all! He will truly be missed! Anna, Avery and Maverick have one great legacy of a man to remember.

I met Mike in 7th grade at Corriher Lipe, back when it was still junior high school instead of middle school. We had the majority of our classes together over the next three years and became good friends especially as we struggled through a crazy difficult Latin class. I remember Mike as being happy and trustworthy. He loved baseball and his aqua truck. As we transitioned to South, Mike and I lost touch until our senior year when we had an English class together. As the year started I remember Mike talking about a girl he wanted to go out with.a friend of mine named Anna.
When you first started dating he would come into class and at the mention of your name he would light up like a kid at Christmas who had gotten every gift they had ever wanted. He still loved baseball and his truck but he had met the love of his life Anna. A year later we had a class together at Catawba and he was so excited to tell me about how Avery was growing and the things you guys would do together. We again lost touch but I will never forget running into Mike at Walmart many years later. When I asked how you were doing his face lit up and he had that same look. He talked about you like he was a newlywed. During this conversation I found that there was a new love in his life Maverick.
Mike was a man who loved life and loved his family dearly and he will be missed by many. Anna, Avery and Maverick, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our friendship started many, many years ago, Anna. Mike was always smiling & so kind. I remember him being at every school function possible for Maverick (as we were there for Casey). Chuck & Mike played sports together in high school & then soft ball later on for different church teams, but they always caught up every time they ran in to each other. Chuck said he was one of the nicest guys he's ever known. You two had a love like no other & everyone could see it on both your faces when together. I love your family dearly and will continue to pray for each of you.

Anna, you are one of my oldest friends, you and I have known each other since kindergarten. I met Mike, much later, high school, I didn't know him all that well then, but when you guys got together, I know how he made you glow. It was always kinda funny, later in life, we seemed to run into each other every time we turned around, and no matter how much or little time had passed when we saw each other out, we always took time to catch up. Much to Mike and my husband's dismay we got it all out before we said good by until next time. So hold tight to those memories, he's going to always be looking over you and your boys.

I have known mike and Anna for 18 years now so I have many memories with the both of them.Alot of those memories were at China Grove COG where Mike and Anna were apart of the leadership in our youth group. We went on great trips and always did fun things. Mike was right there with us helping to raise money so we could all experience the great things we did. Definitely some of the best days of my tennage years. Could never forget 2nd chance prom, we all had so much fun. Mike and Anna were with me when I got my first and only tattoo so that's a memory I can always carry with me. Anna know that you and the boys are in my thoughts and prayers! Love you!!

If it were not for God placing you, Anna, and in turn, Mike into my life 22 years ago, I would not have my best friend and soulmate. I can still remember wanting to crawl under the table at Pizza Hut and disappear when y'all introduced me to Travis and immediately started thinking on playing matchmaker. My little teenage heart had been through so much that I just couldn't imagine looking for a new relationship. I can remember the next day at work when Mike came to see you, working across from me, and he walked over smiling to say, "Guess who I saw today?" Our triple date was set for the next day....and 22 years later, here we are. Two beautiful kids and a blessed life. Thank you so much for investing in being my friend way back then. I will love you both forever.

The best memory I have of Mike is the first time we had a huge group go out on Cari and Carlos' boat. He was flirting and happy and just a joy to be around. I`m very sorry for your loss Anna, Avery, Maverick, Gary Sr., Debbie, and Jatana. I`ll never forget all of those times on the football, basketball, and baseball fields in our youth. We always had a good team and Mike was always our leader. Life took Mike and I in different directions after school, but every time we crossed paths, he always told me that he loved me, invited me to church, and gave me a big `ol hug. Life is so unfair sometimes, but I believe that God needed a leader in Heaven and he brought Mike home.
