Georgiamae Basener, 82, of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born in Minneapolis, Minn. on Aug. 26, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Alice Ingram and Donald Gould. G.G. enjoyed going to the beach and RVing. She loved to travel and visited a lot of the world. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. She loved roses and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and wildlife in the area. G.G. made the best carrot cake ever. She also loved to go riding in her Corvette! She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed. She was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Wittenburg Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, Richard Basener; son, Duane Fluhrer (Phyllis) of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Dawn Emma Hansen of Fairfield, Calif.; Darlene Hildabrand of Jonesboro, Ariz., Christine Anne Barger (Randy) of Granite Quarry, and Linda Sue Dunning of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Robert Gould, Alan Gould, and Art Gould; sisters, Marialice Baker, Carolane Jahnke, and Dorris Jean; four grandsons; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.
