Glenn Ridenhour Obituary
He was born December 15, 1946, in Stanly County, to the late James Glenn Ridenhour and Hazel Kissiah Ridenhour. Mr. Ridenhour began a long career in masonry in the early 1960s, working with O.J. Bost, and concluded his career many years after founding Glenn Ridenhour Masonry, Inc., in the early 1990s. Glenn was truly a self made man and knew the value of an honest day's labor. He loved to travel to the coast for fishing trips and following retirement, he found another love of working on his farm where he enjoyed taking care of his chickens and goats, but was known for his love of tending sheep. Glenn's biggest love of all, was his family and he would sacrifice anything for them.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Lee Ridenhour; sisters, Peggy McKeithan and Brenda Talley; and brother, Jimmy Ridenhour.
He is survived by his children, Glenda Ridenhour Earnhardt (Alan) and Michael Edward Ridenhour (Shannon); grandchildren, Mason and Lexus Ridenhour; step-grandchildren, Kenneth, Christopher, and David Earnhardt; one great-grandchild on the way, Evelyn Lee Ridenhour; and nine step-great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00 PM until 5:45 PM on Thursday, October 16, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM on Thursday, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Billy Sechrist officiating.
