Harvey Leon Chalk

DAYTON, Ohio - Harvey Leon Chalk, formerly of Salisbury, N.C., departed his earthly life to enter his heavenly home Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Dayton.

Mr. Chalk was born in Salisbury to the late Wilks Chalk and Laura Rice. He was educated in the public schools of Rowan County and was a graduate of J.C. Price High School.

He leaves loving memories to be cherished to his wife, Fannie, and two sons, Lamont D. Chalk and Tony A. Chalk of Ohio; brothers Melvin Chalk, R.L. Rice and Walter Chalk; sisters Annie Ruth Key and Kay Frances Ferrens; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service: The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at H.H. Roberts Funeral Home, 38 S. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, Ohio.

Visitation: The family is receiving friends at the home of Annie Ruth Key, 1007 Fourth St., Spencer.

I am very sad to hear of Harvey's passing. He always greeted the neighborhood with a huge smile and friendly wave. My family and I always looked forward to driving past his home to see him out. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I have known Harvey for probably 25 years. As a kid growing up in Huber Heights, my friends and I were all very fond of Harvey. He always looked out for us. He was a good friend and will be missed.

Dear Fannie,children and grandchildren,I am greiving along with you in the lose of my brother and most sadden that I can"t be there with you . My wife is sick and I"m not able to come but please know I"m sending up prayers on your behalf. My brother will be greatly missed but know we will see him again.
