John Trexler

John Clifton Trexler, 81, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born Dec. 8, 1933, in Rowan County, he attended Rowan County schools. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. John was owner and operator of Trexler Truck and Tractor. He was the son of the late John Adams Trexler and Ada Peeler Lyerly. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Hallman of Salisbury. John is survived by his wife, Ann Hart Trexler; two children, son Bart Trexler and wife Shelia of Utah, daughter Rhonda T. Barnhardt and husband Stephen of Salisbury; two sisters, Charlotte Cottingham of Midlothian, Va., Doris Percie of Burbank, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Service: A private graveside service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Sifford.
