Ms. Karen Leigh Beck Rufty, 59, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. A private family funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 8, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. The service will be live streamed here: https://www.ladysfuneralhome.com/live/. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:45 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. Due to the pandemic, the family will require masks and social distancing. Ms. Rufty was born October 3, 1961 in Lexington. She was a daughter of Donald Max Wood of Salisbury and the late Billie Pickett Beck. She was a member of the Salisbury Board of Realtors along with the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed going on various cruises, especially on Thanksgiving. Karen loved all animals, especially dogs. She was the owner as well as the broker in charge of B&R Realty in Salisbury. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by brother, Robert Holt. In addition to her father, Ms. Rufty is survived by daughter, Nicole Free and husband Alex of China Grove; a granddaughter she was expecting in May; six sisters, Debra Hammond and husband Rodney of Cleveland, Donna Honeycutt Green and husband Roy of Salisbury, Diane Reardon of Concord, Kimberly Wood of Salisbury, Belinda Williamson and husband Billy of Concord and Elaine Holt and partner Kim Holt of Salisbury; her fur baby, Sugar; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Brad and Marty Farrah.
