Katherine Jones Obituary
SALISBURY - Katherine "Kathie" Mays Jones, 65, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She was a loving mother and granny.
Born Sept. 3, 1944, in Portsmouth, Va., she was the daughter of the late Irene Paitsel Mays and Houston Mays.
Mrs. Jones owned and operated many restaurants, including Country Burger, East Rowan Cafè, Whistle Stop, Country Cafè and Little Red Caboose.
She was a member of Crown Pointe Baptist Church in Kannapolis.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jimmy Jones, and grandson Jacob Allman.
Survivors include sons Tab Allman (Teia) of Rockwell, Tim Allman (Heather) of Pensacola, Fla.; daughters Tami Poole (Joe) of China Grove, Teri Long (Jerry) of Rockwell; brother Charles Mays of Salisbury; sisters Drema Morris (Joe), Pat Russo, Christy Daniel (Mike) and Marantha Lesoine, all of Virginia; and four grandchildren, Jenna Freeze (Ben), Luke Allman (Anna), Taylor McKnight and Jacob Poole.
Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at Crown Pointe Baptist Church, 703 Tennessee St., Kannapolis.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Crown Pointe Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Beaver. Burial will follow at Grace Bible Church Cemetery, Highway 152, Rockwell.
Memorials: In memory of Kathie Jones, c/o Crown Pointe Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1387, Kannapolis, NC 28082-1387.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of your mother. She was on of the kindest person you could ever meet. You can't find many Kathies around. It never failed when I would come in town I would run into her. We were grateful to know her. I will miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I will miss Kathy soooo much. Although distance separated us, I thought of her frequently and loved her as one of my favorite cousins. I'll never forget the "cousins" trip (planned by Suzie) and the fun time we had together. Kathy could always make me laugh. She was a joy to be around!! My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the whole family. Although she will miss the "Paitsel" reunion at Douthat, she will be at another reunion with a lot of Paitsels and other loved ones in heaven. I'm almost jealous that she will see my dad before me, and Uncle Elmer and Aunt Ruth, Uncle Houston and Aunt Irene, (the ones I grew up around here in Tidewater)and all the other Paitsels that have gone on. I know she is happy. I hope she gives my dad a hug for me and tells him I plan to see him one day. If for no other reason, I don't want to miss heaven.

To all my cousin's and 2nd cousin's as wellthat I haven't had the pleasure to get to know through all these years .I loved your mom so very much,all through my young years she used to always show me love.I always use to look for her at the reunions ,she was so special to me .She is in no pain now and no one can even imagine how happy she is now.
Lets all remember if we want to see her again we can if we have JESUS in our hearts and know him as our personal Savior.I pray God gives you all comfort in your loss and he will !

We are so sorry for your loss. We had the pleasure of getting to know Kathie but for a very short time while she ran the restaurant in Rockwell. She was a very sweet lady and we were sad to see her leave. We will be praying that God cover you all in his Love and Glory to ease your pain during this difficult time. I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mother. But I will always hold the fond memories that I had of her. As we were growing up we had so much fun some times I wish we could go back in time and play in the barn and fish and have all that fun we had as we were growing up she was a sweet mom and friend to me she was good to all of us Jack and the rest of us. May God be with each of you in this time of Sorry and in the days to come. With the Lord's help you will be able to make it I did when I lost my son at 18teen years old he is the only way I made it through the pain. Try to stay strong and remember all the good time with her she was a Special mom. I will never forget her. I did not know Ms. Jones personally but I had her grandson, Jacob, in my preschool class at Salem. I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is not easy to give up a loved one but God is always there to bring you through it. I will be praying for all of you.
