Kathy Lynn Rabon-Summers

Kathy Lynn Rabon-Summers, 67, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at The Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center in Arlington, Va. after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family members including her devoted son, Rhett. Born Feb. 1, 1950 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Lillian Nevada Rabon and the late Luther C. Rabon. She was married to David William Summers for 31 years. Kathy graduated from North Rowan High School, received her degree in interior design from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her MBA in International Business from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She was head of the design department for Sea Pines at Hilton Head, S.C. and Palmas del Mar in Puerto Rico. After receiving her MBA, she worked for the SEC and ultimately became the Director of Industry Studies at the Investment Company Institute in Washington, D.C. Kathy is survived by her husband, David William Summers of Alexandria, Va.; her son, Rhetton Alexander Summers of Washington, D.C.; mother, Lillian Nevada Rabon of Salisbury; sisters, Karen Broyhill (Paul) of Charlotte and Lenoir, Kelly Lesser Pagillo (Lou) of Marietta, Ga. and Kim Alvarez (Chicore) of Winter Haven, Fla.; brother, Kent Rabon of Salisbury; and beloved nieces and nephews. Service: A service to celebrate her life will be held at Historic Christ Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Alexandria, Va.
