Kimberly Sifford Obituary

Kimberly Chon Sifford, affectionately known as “Kim,” of Granite Quarry, North Carolina,

peacefully departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on October 26, 1964, she was the beloved daughter of Patricia Ellis Sifford and the late Ford V. Sifford, Jr. Kim was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Kim accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Granite

Quarry.

A proud graduate of North Rowan High School, Class of 1983, Kim went on to pursue further education at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Known for her radiant smile and magnetic personality, Kim never met a stranger. Her joyful presence lit up every

room, and her sincerity made others feel truly seen and valued. She was a natural encourager, full of laughter, compassion, and love.

One of Kim's greatest passions was cooking, and her signature Jambalaya became a treasured favorite among family and friends. She delighted in gathering loved ones around the table, where food was not just nourishment but an expression of love.

Kim was preceded in death by her beloved father, Ford V. Sifford, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted mother, Patricia Ellis Sifford of Granite Quarry, NC; sisters Angy Charleston (Josiah) of Salisbury, NC, and Twanna Sifford Hopkins of Charlotte, NC; brother Brian Steele of Charlotte, NC; nephews Lathan Charleston of Charlotte, NC, Dominique Steele of Salisbury, NC; nieces Akevia Charleston of Concord, NC, Taleia Hopkins of Granite Quarry, NC, and Danielle Steele of Charlotte, NC; great-nephews Landon Johnson-Charleston, Tatum Charleston; great-niece Nola Howard-Charleston; godchildren Roderick Hawkins, Keanna Ellis, Jazmine Ellis, Imani Baldwin; special cousins Karen Ellis-Dunlap of Salisbury, NC, and Sandra Oglesby of Spencer, NC; along with a host of extended family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Kim's life will be held Tuesday, July 29 at 11:30 a.m. at Rowan Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Monday, July

28, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing that Kim's loving spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
