Lawrence Rickenbacker Obituary

Mr. Lawrence William (Rick) Rickenbacker, 78, of Trinity, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Piedmont Health & Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. He was born on October 22, 1946 in Davidson County, Thomasville, NC to Josiah Lee Rickenbacker and Beulah Margie Bumgardner Rickenbacker, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1966 graduate of Thomasville High School and a US Marine Corps veteran stationed in CA. He retired in 2006 after 30 years of service from Duke Energy and was a member of the Thomasville Church of God.

Surviving is his sister, Wanda Jordan and husband Tony of Holden Beach, NC; nieces, Tonya Kyles and husband Mark and Beverly Jordan; nephew, Wayne Jordan and wife Sarah; and great-nephews, Laine, Levi, Luke, Connor, and Liam.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Thomasville Church of God with Rev. C. Alan Greene and Rev. Russell Scott officiating. Interment with military rites provided by the Davidson County Honor Guard will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to Thomasville Church of God, 1200 W. Holly Hill Rd. Thomasville, NC 27360 or to Trellis Supportive Care, 301 S. Main St. Ste 105, Salisbury, NC 28144. Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
