Marilyn Dalrymple Obituary

Marilyn Grant Dalrymple, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend

entered heaven peacefully on November 29, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband,

David Edward Dalrymple, her mother Mary Julia Leonard Grant and her father Charles

Meldeau Grant. She is survived by her brother Cary Grant (Sandra), son Marty Cain (Renee')

and their children Grant (Shauna), Travis (Ann Marie), Blake (Traci), Austin (Kelly) followed by

10 great grandchildren, daughter Pam Cain Matthews (Steve) and her children Angie Walton

(Alex) and Lee Greenberger followed by 3 great grandchildren, and step sons, David and Brian

(Kim) Dalrymple and families.

Born in Salisbury, NC October 18, 1939, Marilyn grew up with a deep appreciation for family,

hard work, and community--values she carried honorably throughout her life. In 1960 she

moved to Atlanta, GA with her first husband Ernest Cain and her growing family. Marilyn

married David Dalrymple March 29,1986 at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, where they

remained faithful members during their 39 year marriage. Marilyn cherished every moment

spent with her family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Marilyn blended her talents of organization and attention to details into her career path. She

was the office manager for Mt. Vernon Internal Medicine for over 10 years and then was the

owner/manager of The Osteoporosis Diagnostic Center for 25 years. Marilyn loved to serve.

She volunteered and led many organizations in the Dunwoody area for over 50 years including

the Dunwoody Women's Club where she held many offices including President and always

loved working the annual Home Tour, the Dunwoody Nature Center where she was known as

one of the Founding Mother's, and the Spruill Art Center helping with the Stage Door Players

and the annual Artistic Affair. Marilyn was also involved with Dunwoody United Methodist

Church and was a member of the Dunwoody Country Club for decades.

Marilyn's passions were family, cooking, friends and her dogs. She loved family celebrations,

attending school programs, sporting events. or cooking for her family. She was a fabulous

cook. Her friends always meant so much to her especially at the end. the visits from her friends

brought her the most Joy. And she loved their dogs, oh did she Love those Dogs!

She was a very strong woman whose beauty was matched only by her drive to succeed in

everything she did. Love never dies and her legacy will live on through all her offspring. We all

thank God for her life and dedication to us.

A celebration of life service honoring Marilyn's life will be held December 15, 2025 at 1pm at

Dunwoody United Methodist Church with a reception afterwards in the Parlor. Friends and

loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life beautifully lived.
