Marilyn Olvey Obituary

Mrs. Marilyn Lee Simmons Olvey, 80, of Salisbury, passed away at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury on Oct. 22, 2015. Mrs. Olvey was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Hancock, Ind., daughter of the late George Simmons and Evelyn Doran Simmons. Mrs. Olvey was a graduate of Charlottesville High School in Charlottesville, Ind., and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Nazareth Community Church and she enjoyed sewing and loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Olvey, Jr.. and by sister Arlene Simmons. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Ray Olvey of Orlando, Fla., and William Blaine Olvey and wife Maura of Longwood, Fla.; daughter Gina K. Holderfield and husband Mark of Salisbury; grandchildren Robby, Kari, Todd, Suzanne, Elizabeth, Catherine and Billy; and by great-grandchildren Megan, Amber, Will, Jake, Maria, Marleigh, Bryce and Ayden. She is also survived by brother Robert Simmons of Anaheim, Calif. Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Service: The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Shoaf, pastor, Nazareth Community Church, with burial to follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens. Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Olvey family.
