Mark Stanley Ritchie

Mark Ritchie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Salisbury, NC on December 26, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born on February 25, 1931, to the late Clifford J. and Lois Ritchie in Rowan County, NC. He was the loving husband of Frances Lenora Ritchie, whom he married on March 11, 1950, and they shared 73 wonderful years of marriage.

Mark was a true family man and devoted father to his three daughters, Janet R. Canup (married to Dale Canup), Debra R. Shafer (married to Douglas Shafer), and Lisa R. Hyatt (married to Timothy Hyatt). He was also a loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mark dedicated over 40 years of his life to Wagoner Construction Co. as a project supervisor, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and talents with others. He was known for his generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand or share his expertise with anyone who needed it.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and creating furniture in his workshop. Despite his many accomplishments and talents, Mark was most proud of his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather who always put others first. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family will greet friends and relatives in the fireplace lobby at Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith in Faith, NC, on Friday, December 29, 2023, between 12:30 - 1:45 pm. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Shiloh Reformed Church Cemetery with Pastor Richard Myers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith Capital Improvement Fund, PO Box 308, Faith, NC 28041.
