Betty Hardee Obituary

LORIS | Betty Jo Williams Brown Hardee, 71, wife of Don Hardee, of Red Bluff Road, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 at Conway Medical Center.



Mrs. Hardee was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Ollie McCord and Ruth Capps Williams. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was a former member of Jamestown Baptist Church where she was involved with the Jamestown Quilters. Mrs. Hardee was owner/operator of Real Estate One in Conway and was formerly associated with Grainger Realty and Helms Realty in Conway. She was a former board member of Bucksport Water and Sewer and was an officer in the Coast Guard Auxillary in Georgetown. Mrs. Hardee was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Franklin Brown.



Surviving in addition to her husband of Loris are two daughters, Denise Nobles of Surfside Beach, S.C. and Brenda Suggs and her husband, Bruce of Loris; one son, George B. Hardee of Socastee; two brothers, James Williams of Georgetown, and Aubrey Williams of Conway; six sisters, Ollivee Cannon, Vera Graham, Gwen Woodward, and Sandra McCracken, all of Conway, Barbara Griffin of Aiken and Miriam Singleton of Charlotte, N.C,; seven grandchildren, Doyle Nobles, Shane Nobles, Kimberly N. Spivey, Michelle Gordon, Amanda English, Shawn Hardee and Eric Hardee; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jamestown Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbin King and the Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
