Millie Ann Sides Barringer

Millie Ann Sides Barringer, 85, of Richfield, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home.

She was born February 11, 1940, in Stanly County, to the late Arthur Marshall Sides and Mamie Basinger Sides. Mrs. Barringer was a graduate of New London School and worked for many years as a Jail Supervisor for the Stanly County Sheriff's Department. She always enjoyed working and her most cherished job was taking care of Jim Nance for over ten years. Mrs. Barringer loved going to church and was a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church in Albemarle. She was always active in her church through teaching Sunday School, serving as church pianist, and singing.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barringer was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Mitchell Barringer; her son, Billy Barringer; and sister, Mary Francis Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Floyd Barringer (Tracy), Larry Barringer (Karen), Debra Morris, Denise Laxton (Mark); eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sister, Tammy Sides.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Monday, November 24, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.

The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Monday, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ken Burris officiating.

Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.

Her family would love to extend a special recognition to Mrs. Barringer's granddaughter, Amanda Barringer, for her love, care, support, and for being there everyday.
