Nita Overcash Obituary
KANNAPOLIS - Nita Garver Overcash, 88, a resident of Transitional Health Services and formerly of China Grove, died Feb. 10, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast.
Born June 2, 1921, in Rowan County, to the late Robert and Myrtle Goodman Garver, she graduated from Landis High School in 1939. She was a life long member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, a member of WELCA, the Julia Bost Circle and Alberta Garver Sunday School class. Nita retired from Cannon Mills Plant #1 after 40 years of service in the sheet department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Overcash in 1997; a son, Jerry Overcash; two brothers, Fred Garver and Oscar "Bud" Garver; three sisters, Mabel Walker, Velma VanPelt and Hazel Johnson; and a grandson, Chad Overcash.
Survivors include three sons, Tommy Lee Overcash, Sr. and wife Agatha of Rockwell, Rev. Kay E. Overcash and wife Glenda of China Grove, Wayne A. Overcash and wife Ann of China Grove; two daughters, Diane Kane and husband Wayne of Rockwell and Sarah Higgins and husband Jimmy of China Grove; two brothers, Ernest Garver of China Grove, Hoyle Garver and wife Virginia of China Grove; five sisters, Pauline Brady of China Grove, Rachel Efird of China Grove, Wilma Adcock and husband C.L. of Kannapolis, Ollie Morrow and husband Floyd of China Grove, Sarah Rebanell Mesimer of Woodleaf; sister-in- law, Hazel Garver of China Grove; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove and at other times at the home of a son, Rev. Kay and Glenda Overcash, 107 Frontier Circle, China Grove, NC 28023.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, conducuted by Rev. Joseph Tallent, Pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state Saturday from 1 - 2 p.m. at the church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Rd., China Grove, NC 28023.
Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove is serving the family.

Nita is my second Mother . I will never forget that her and Paul let eat peanut butter from a jar when I was about 2. This is not good bye it is SEE YOU LATTER MOMMA, in Heaven.
