Patricia Hughes Obituary

Patricia Jean Hooper Hughes, age 93, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
Mrs. Hughes was born February 11, 1932 in Perry Ohio the daughter of the late Garrett Patrick Hooper and Bernice I. Hurst Hooper. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School. Patricia worked for Anchor Hocking Glass and was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury.
She enjoyed square dancing with the Cardinal Squares and cherished her many years as a proud member of the Red Hat Society. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved her family with her whole heart. She worked hard throughout her life, never hesitating to lend a hand or offer a warm smile. She found joy in the simple pleasures-sunny days at the beach, quality time with loved ones, and time spent in the kitchen baking her famous cinnamon rolls and peanut butter fingers. Her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Preceding her in death was her brother Charles Hurst and sister Ruth Searles.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Michael Hughes (Cecelia), Mark Hughes (Carla) and Steve Hughes (Tammy); daughters Debra Hoover, Marsha Schobel (Walt) and Jackie Taylor (John Fitz); grandchildren Shane Hoover, Brian Hoover (Leslie) Amy Hoover, Corrin Hughes (Jordan), Katie Steele, Ethan Hughes (Andrea), Mike Hughes, Mara Hughes, Caitlin Hughes, Sarah Schobel, Austin Schobel (Ryann), Eric Taylor (Allison), Emily Harrison (Levi), Ellis Taylor (Jazmin) Natasha Mastel (Zak) Adam Hughes; step grandchildren Jax Fitz, John Edward Muth (Susan) and Elizabeth Muth; and 19 great grandchildren.
