Paul Wade Morgan

1947 - 2021

Paul “Wade” Morgan, 74, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury. He was born September 24, 1947, in Rowan County, to the late Evelyn Clement Morgan and Paul Meredith Morgan. Wade was a 1965 Graduate of West Rowan High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1970. Mr. Morgan was employed as a detention officer at the Rowan County Detention Center and was also employed at Piedmont Correctional as a guard. He later worked for and retired from SpecCon Systems where he was a welder. Wade was an avid bowler before his health declined and amassed a collection of rings for bowling over 300 perfect games. He also enjoyed NASCAR, playing softball, and sports in general. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Neena H. Morgan; children, Christopher Morgan of Rockwell, Tamara Efird and husband Brian of Landis, and Michael Morgan and wife Stephanie of Salisbury; brother, David Morgan and wife Janice of Lexington; grandchildren, Bryan Morgan, Zander Efird, Westin Efird, Joslyn Efird, Raeha Morgan, Penelope Morgan, and Tori Armour and husband Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Paisley and Lillian. Arrangements: The family will greet friends and relatives from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. The service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 26, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144 with military rites provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and United States Marine Corps.
