Reba “Sue” Evans Horton, 91, of
Faith, NC, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on Monday, November 24, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1934, in Rowan County, North Carolina, one of twelve children to the late Clyde and Alice Lowder Evans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ralph Horton, Sr., her daughter Angela Fesperman, eight brothers, and two sisters.
Sue was a devoted and active member of Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, where, in her healthier years, she faithfully participated in all aspects of church life and service.
Professionally, she began her career as a hairdresser and later retired from Fiber Industries, where she held several administrative positions throughout her many years there.
She was a beautiful blend of softness and strength, with piercing blue eyes that could light up a room--and a sense of humor that could fill it with laughter just as quickly. She had an innate desire to make sure everyone around her was okay, and she showed that not through words alone, but through her thoughtful actions and her unwavering presence. She was truly exceptional at simply showing up.
Outside of work, she embraced life with energy and curiosity. She enjoyed staying active and traveling, and especially cherished time spent with her beloved sisters--often gathered around a spirited (yet always loving) game of cards. She was also an avid reader, finding joy and comfort in the written word.
Above all, her family was the center of her world. Whether in everyday moments or special occasions, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved. She lived her life as a constant example of resilience, love, humor, and strength.
Those left to cherish her memory include her 2 Sons, Gene (Cynthia) Horton, Keith (Dana) Horton; 3 Daughters, Kathy Carol, Kara (Rob) Bean, Kellie (Joe) Hudson of
Salisbury, NC; Son-in-law, Eddie Fesperman; Granddaughters, Elizabeth Blackman, Laura Osborne, Alice Eudy, Melissa Morris, Kyrstan Pruett, Kinsley Glaum, Gracie Hudson; Grandsons, Jason Dillard, Derek Dillard, Brantly Horton, Keyan Clanton and Garren Hudson; her beloved sister, Joy Earnhardt, 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Countless nieces and nephews and a beautiful church family.
