Richard Kolbasowski Obituary

Richard Joseph Kolbasowski Sr., 78, of Granite Quarry, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born Nov. 12, 1939 in Perth Amboy, N.J. to the late John Kolbasowski Sr. and Rose Marashon Kolbasowski. He was of the Catholic faith and worked as a supervisor for Reynolds Metals Company until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling to New Jersey to see his sister Gloria and her family, working in his yard, photography and building his own computers. He loved to spend time with his family, his dog Mary, and most importantly, going to events and functions for his grandchildren, CJ, Joseph and Marik. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Messick Kolbasowski and 10 siblings. Richard is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Ann Kolbasowski of Granite Quarry and Marlene Kolbasowski; son, Richard Joseph Kolbasowski Jr. and wife Cynthia Marie Waitkus-Kolbasowski of Rockwell; and three grandsons, Curtis Jon Buck Jr., Richard Joseph Kolbasowski III and William Marik Kolbasowski. Service: A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury, conducted by Father John Eckert. Inurnment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
