Robert Steele Obituary

Robert Alexander Steele Jr. 69, of Salisbury, passed away on Feb. 17, 2023. He was born to the late Robert and Beaulah Christian Steele, Sr. on June 30, 1953 in Rowan County. He was a 1971 graduate of East Rowan High School and 1975 graduate of Livingstone College and recieving his Master's from NC A& T . Robert dedicated over 35 years of service as a teacher and coach in the towns of Oxford and Salisbury, NC. He was preceded in death by parents;Robert and Beulah Steele and brother John Allen. He is survived by his children: Francina Steele, Robert A. Steele III, Philip Steele, and Roneshia Steele; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Robinson Steele; a host of nieces and nephews. Arrangements: To honor Robert's memory, we are holding a celebration of life on Sunday, Feb. 26. The viewing will be held from 2-3 p.m. and homegoing services from 3-4 p.m. at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church located at 719 S. Caldwell St. Salisbury, NC 28144.Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life. Public viewing Saturday, 12-5 p.m. at Rowan Funeral Services. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Steele family.
