Ruby Taylor Obituary
ROCKWELL - Mrs. Ruby Adelaide Safrit Taylor, 89, of Rockwell passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical
Mrs. Taylor was born on April 2, 1925 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late William Luther Safrit and Julia Mae Eudy Safrit.
A 1944 graduate of Rockwell High School, Mrs. Taylor retired in 1988 after 40 years of service from Cannon Mills. She was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, WELCA and Organ Community Senior Citizens Club. She was also active in many other areas of her church as her health permitted.
She was a former member of Gold Hill Lion's Club and Rockwell Rural Fire Department Ladies Auxillary. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
In addition to her parents she is also preceeded in death by her brothers, Hubert and Raymond Safrit.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter Janet T. McClure of Rockwell; sister, Betty Safrit Barringer of Rockwell; grandson, Jason C. Slagle of Rockwell; and great-grandson Caleb A. Slagle.
Visitation:The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at Organ Lutheran Church Parlor 12-1:45 p.m.
Service:The funeral service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at Organ Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Carlin Ours, pastor. Burial will follow at Boger United Church of Christ Cemetery in Concord.
Memorials:In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1515 Organ Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.

Janet I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and I know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Ruby had a heart of Gold and I was bless to know her. I know Dad is welcoming her with open arms as they both watch over you.

Sorry to hear of ruby's passing she was a very sweet lady. I enjoyed working with her for a long time in the mill. My thoughts and prayers to the family. She was the most easy going person I know.
