Semon Benjamin Nabors

Semon Benjamin Nabors, 96, passed away peacefully Monday, December 1st 2025, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Semon was born August 3rd, 1929, in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Horace Benjamin Nabors and Minnie Maude Wilson. He was preceeded in death by his loving wife Catherine Sweeney Nabors to whom he was married 64 years. He was preceeded in death by his son Timothy Gerard Nabors, and grandson Steven Augustus Nabors.

He is survived by his sister Colleen Burleson of Albermarle; son John Christopher Nabors Sr. and Dot of Matthews; daughter in law, Lisa Sheets Nabors of Kannapolis; his grandchildren, John Christopher Nabors Jr. and Kim of Raleigh; Gwen Politis and Andy of Harrisburg; Jessica Semone Allman and Jeremy of Newport ; Rachel Nabors of Kannapolis; his great grandchildren, Sophia and Eva Politis of Harrisburg; John Christopher Nabors III of Raleigh; Isabelle and Eleanor Allman of Newport, and many neices and nephews.

He was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kannapolis. A charter member of the church, he and his wife were the first couple wed at St. Joseph's. He was a proud Third Degree Knight of Columbus (Council 12167) where he served with dedication. He also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Semon was a hard worker at Cannon Mills for 50 plus years, where he was known as "Hollywood" by his friends. He loved traveling around the world with his wife Catherine. He enjoyed watching hockey and NASCAR. He loved gardening, taking care of his orchids, and he always had a joke on hand. He will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Kannapolis, Tuesday December 9th 2025 at 10am. Flowers can be received at St. Josephs Catholic Church. 108 Joseph's Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083-6346. In leiu of flowers donations can be made to St Josephs Catholic Church Maintenance fund.
