Susan Atkinson

1962 - 2022

Susan Owen Atkinson, 59, of Oklahoma City passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 of a brain aneurysm. She was born in Salisbury on Aug. 13, 1962 to the late Foster Owen and Jean Owen who now lives in a Chapel Hill Continuing Care Community. She graduated from Salisbury High School, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the University of Kansas where she completed a master's degree in Urban Planning. She worked as an Urban Planner for the cities of Norman, then in Oklahoma City both in Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father, Foster and is survived by her mother, Jean; sister, Kate Williams; husband, Alan Atkinson; and children, Foster and Gwyneth. Arrangements: A gathering for Susan will be held on Sunday afternoon June 26 at 4 p.m. in the Heritage Room at 118 East Council Street, Salisbury.
