Terry Miller

Mr. Terry Wayne Miller, 57, of Salisbury went home to heaven Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born Feb. 25, 1961, in Wilkes County, he was the son of Shirley Walker and the late Johnny Miller. Mr. Miller was a graduate of North Rowan High School. He served in the US Navy from 1979-1988 as electronics technician aboard the USS Sargo, submarine service. Mr. Miller worked for Shaver Wood Products, Power Curbers, and most recently, OPEX Corporation as a service technician. He enjoyed playing golf, travelling, beach trips with friends, the Steelers football team, and his two dogs, Rufus and Laddie. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Shirley Louise Walker Young; brother, John Miller (Terri) of Salisbury; sisters, Sherry Strude (Tommy) of Wilkesboro and Nanette Shinn (James) of Salisbury; nephews, Scott Johnson, Shane Miller (Julianne), Donnie Shinn, and Jason Shinn; and nieces, Tammy Coffey and Holly Miller. Visitation and Service: Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Thursday, March 15, at New Hope Independent Baptist Church, 830 Choate Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146. Funeral Service will be at 12 p.m., in the church sanctuary with Rev. Darrell Worley officiating. Burial with military honors will take place at the US National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd. location.
