Thomas Ridenhour Obituary

Thomas Richard Ridenhour, 69, was born in Salisbury, Sept. 24, 1947 to Thomas William and Ruth Beaver Ridenhour. Thomas was a Vietnam Veteran who served six years in the Army with a rank of SP5. He also was an active member of the Cooleemee VFW and Civitan Club. He attended Victory Baptist Church in Cooleemee. He was preceded in death by his father Tom Ridenhour and a brother Terry Ridenhour. He is survived by his mother, Ruth of the home; a brother, Jerry in Hillsborough; sister-in-law, Jean in Thomasville; numerous nieces and nephews; two daughters, Shelly Hobbs and Jennifer Hendrix; grandchildren, Amber, Brittanie and Peggy Hobbs, Kelsey Hendrix and Cody Sloop; two great-grandchildren Gracie Britt and Anna Claire Shaeffer all from Mooresville; and a very special cousin and best friend, Jimmy Spry. They enjoyed a lifetime of friendship and many hours of hunting, fishing and playing cards. Visitation: Will be held at 11 a.m., on July 1, at Victory Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 12 noon with Pastor Shelby Harbour officiating. Burial will be Monday, July 10, at the Old Historic Salisbury National Cemetery 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144 with Military Honors will be accorded by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard. Special Thanks to Autumn Care in Mocksville and Hospice of Davie county and the many friends and members of Victory Baptist. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church, hospice or the charity of your choice. Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Ridenhour family.
