Thomas Keith Watson

Thomas Keith (Moore) Watson passed away Wednesday January 7 at Rowan Regional Medical Center from lung cancer. Born July 29, 1957 in Mooresville, NC to Elva Marcelene Beaver and Thomas Herron Moore, Keith attended Hillcrest Elementary and Pinedale Elementary in Enterprise, AL before moving to Salisbury in 1969 where he attended Hurley Elementary, West Rowan Middle and West Rowan High School. In 1975 Keith was adopted by his step-father, Billy Monroe Watson.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Keith enjoyed his annual trips to Surf City/Topsail each October where he participated and helped win many fishing tournaments. He worked at Fiber Industries which later became Hoechst Celanese until he was forced into disability due to an at-work injury.

He is survived by his Mother Elva Marcelene (Beaver) Watson, son Chad Keith Watson of the home, grandson Devon Zane Watson, brother Billy Brian Watson, wife Kerry and their two daughters (Kiana and Hailey) of Australia , sister Sharyn Marlayna (Moore) Watson as well as many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

No funeral, visitation or memorial have been planned (per Keith's request). Lylerly Funeral home will handle the cremation.
