Walter Lewis Obituary
Mr. Lewis was educated in the Rowan County public school system and attended Dunbar High School in East Spencer. He went on to serve in the dietary department at the W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center, where his calm nature and steady presence were quietly appreciated by many.
Walter Lewis was a man of few words but carried a spirit full of peace and humility. He lived a simple, fulfilling life centered around the things that brought him joy and comfort--spending time with family, fishing by still waters, watching his favorite wrestling matches, horror films, and cheering on football games from the comfort of home. In all that he did, he remained grounded and content, never needing the spotlight, yet always present with a kind and steady heart.
His memory will be lovingly cherished by his siblings: Ulyses Lewis, Jr., Ethelene Lewis, Lillie Bell Lewis, Lawrence Edward Lewis, Joe Wiley Lewis, Judy Ann Lewis, Sandra Claudette Lewis Smith, and Danny Lewis, all of Salisbury; a dear aunt, Doris Lewis; a special niece, Bonnie Davis of Salisbury; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will remember him for the quiet strength and humble presence he brought into their lives.

Arrangements: Services are Sunday, June 1, 2025 in the A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel, Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. with Visitation at 2:00 pm and Funeral at 3:00 pm. Interment following service at Oakdale Cemetery. Reverend Anthony Williams, Eulogist. Repass will be at the home of Judy Lewis 140 Audrey Lane, Salisbury, NC 28144.
