Alan Peacock Obituary

Alan Bradley Peacock

In Loving Memory

Port St. Lucie, FL-Alan Bradley Peacock passed away at his home in Port St. Lucie, FL on August 2, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 4, 1946 to Paul Bradley Peacock and Esther Ruth Marti Peacock. His early years were spent in the Glendale and Sugarhouse areas of Salt Lake City, graduating from Highland High School where he was a National Merit Scholarship finalist. Alan used his gift for creative writing as editor of the literary magazine and his love for music as a member of the a cappella choir.

After a brief stint at the University of Utah, Alan moved to southern California where he worked for Capitol Records and enjoyed the sun, surf and music business. He took his talent as a wordsmith to the San Francisco Bay area where he was employed by advertising agencies. Years later, he established a home in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area, then moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where he had lived for the last 20 years.

Alan was a gourmet cook, loved the beach, a daily swim in his pool and missed his 1969 GTO convertible. He could often be seen out for his daily constitutional and was known to send his family witty, snarky letters. He had no use for technology, refusing to own a computer or cell phone. To communicate with him was to do it the old-fashioned way-via his landline or through the mail. His trademark birthday gift to his sister was a few Florida lottery tickets which rarely produced winnings but made for a fun annual tradition.

Alan is survived by his sister, Marti Peacock Fronce (Giles), nephews Tony and Andrew and their families and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and partner, Donald Manning. The family wishes to thank Gary and Arlynn Miller for being such a great support to Alan and his family. In accordance with Alan's wishes, no services were held. We love you and miss you, brother mine!

Rest in peace my dear friend. I´ll never forget you or the haiku you wrote for me in high school.

Dear Marti and Family, I am sorry for the loss of your dear brother. He sounds like such a kind soul. His sense of humor reminds me of your dad. May he be enjoying a wonderful reunion with family and friends. May you be comforted by your loving memories. Kim Andersen Wunderlich, (Ruth Woodward's daughter).
