Albert Child Obituary

Albert D'Orr Child 1914 ~ 2005 Albert D'Orr Child was born on March 10, 1914 to Horace Ezra Child and Eliza Jane Taggart in Frontier, Wyoming. He was the seventh of eleven children. D'Orr died May 9, 2005 in South Jordan, UT. A viewing is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on May 13, 2005 at the Fourth Ward Chapel in Afton, WY. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Fourth Ward Chapel. Burial at the Freedom, WY. Cemetery. D'Orr married Elnora Hanson on May 27, 1931 in the Logan Temple. Elnora passed away on December 6, 1974. In October of 1976 he married Myrna Hansen. She passed away on March 12, 1999. D'Orr's life was an example to all that knew him. He represented integrity, hard work and sacrifice. His life was full of challenges and hardships, all of which he met with dignity and honor. He left a legacy of wisdom, integrity and leadership and was loved and respected by all that knew him. D'Orr is survived by five children: LaRue Wright (Dwayne); Jenny Martin (Fremont); Vein Child (Annette); Diane English; Claire Lowe, and five step-children: Valerie Haderlie (Allen); Rick Hansen (Sherri); Dean Hansen (Debbi); Mike Hansen (Vandi); and Jerry Hansen (Jenni). He is also survived by a combined 63 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and three sisters: Leora Rich (Marvin); Shirley Dana (Lafe); and Aileen Belz (Karl). He was preceded in death by one granddaughter (Brenda Miller) and five brothers, (Ezra, Earl, Horace, Ralph and Doyle), two sisters (LaRee and Louise), his parents, stepmother, two stepbrothers and one stepsister. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Legacy House and Community Nursing Hospice for the kind and loving care provided to D'Orr. Thank you so much.
